HONEYCOMB

Hexaboard Honeycomb panel is a high technology sandwich structure with a honeycomb structure inside and high specific composite folios on both sides. Due to its features such as lightness, high resistance and eco-friendly, made it the indispensable solutions of the main sectors such as Automotive, Construction, Furniture.

A sandwich construction using honeycomb core with its high degree of resiliency is more impact resistant than a single skin laminate with equal or higher weight.

With it's natural harmonic of 125-150 HZ polypropylene is known for it's vibration damping/noise absorption properties. Noise and vibration travel well through a single skin laminate. Boats with cored hulls are simply quieter.

The honeycomb core structure are made by little hexagon cells. This structore core is placed between two polypropylene sheets without any adhesive and can be supplied from 4mm to 35mm.

For example;
Type 9,6PP120/20WPC1,2
Cell Diameter: 9,6mm
Material: PP
Density: 120 kg/m3 – 20mm
Surface Type: Wood plastic composite
Surface Thickness: 1 ,2
Total Thickness: 20+(1,2x2)= 22,4 mm

Thermal Insulation

Due to compressed air in the comb cells, thermal insulation performance of the Honeycombs is much higher, comparing to metals with hard polymer core, glass and sandwich panels. While thermal insulation coefficient of a typical PP comb structure Honeycomb was 0.07 WmK, thermal conductivity of panels with hard PP cores is approximately 0.02 WmK.
